Tips

eesy Manager supports two types of tips with different tax treatment.

Tip Types

Employee Tip (TrinkgeldAN)

  • Recipient: The server (employee)
  • Tax: Tax-free (0% VAT)
  • Usage: Standard for most restaurants

The tip goes directly to the server and is not taxed.

Employer Tip (TrinkgeldAG)

  • Recipient: The restaurant (employer)
  • Tax: Taxable income
  • Usage: When tips should go to the business

The tip goes to the restaurant and must be taxed.

Entering Tips

At checkout:

  1. In the Tip section you'll see suggestions:
    • No tip
    • Percentage suggestions (e.g., 5%, 10%, 15%)
  2. Tap a suggestion or enter a custom amount
  3. The tip is automatically calculated

Calculation:

Amount paid - Bill amount = Tip

Example:
$50.00 (paid) - $45.80 (bill) = $4.20 tip

Tip Recipient

By default, the tip goes to the server processing the payment.
