Tips
eesy Manager supports two types of tips with different tax treatment.
Tip Types
Employee Tip (TrinkgeldAN)
- Recipient: The server (employee)
- Tax: Tax-free (0% VAT)
- Usage: Standard for most restaurants
The tip goes directly to the server and is not taxed.
Employer Tip (TrinkgeldAG)
- Recipient: The restaurant (employer)
- Tax: Taxable income
- Usage: When tips should go to the business (or e.g., be distributed evenly between servers and kitchen)
The tip goes to the restaurant and must be taxed.
Entering Tips
At checkout:
- In the Tip section you'll see suggestions:
- No tip
- Smart suggestions
- Tap a suggestion or enter a custom amount
- The tip is automatically calculated
Note
Always enter the total amount the guest pays (bill amount + tip), not just the tip amount.
Calculation:
Amount paid - Bill amount = Tip
Example:
$50.00 (paid) - $45.80 (bill) = $4.20 tip
Tip Recipient
By default, the tip goes to the server processing the payment.
Select Different Recipient
- A dropdown appears in the Assign to section
- Select the server who should receive the tip
- Choose the team member from the dropdown
Change Tip Type
If enabled, you can choose between employee and employer tips:
- Two options appear in the Tip Type section:
- Employee Tip (TrinkgeldAN) – tax-free
- Employer Tip (TrinkgeldAG) – taxable
- Select the correct type
Setting Required
The admin must enable Tip type changeable per transaction in Space settings.

- Tap the menu (three dots)
- Select My Tips
The overview shows:
